In her USA Today interview, Dr. Schneider calls out politicians’ new Colorado law for needlessly regulating women’s healthcare
CU Medicine OB-GYN East Denver (Rocky Mountain)’s Dr. Emily Schneider spoke to USA Today about a new Colorado law that requires consent for medical students to perform pelvic exams while the patient is unconscious.
Dr. Schneider, who is the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists’ legislative chair for Colorado, noted that, “To do a pelvic exam on a woman under anesthesia without their consent is already prohibited and considered assault. The law is just redundant.”
